The RecycleBank Rewards Program will give Derby businesses the opportunity to participate in an advertising program that encourages residents to recycle AND shop locally!

On July 28, 2009, the Derby City Council approved a contract with Waste Connections of Kansas to provide curbside trash and recycling services for the City of Derby starting December 1, 2009. Waste Connections is partnering with RecycleBank, a company that rewards consumers and businesses for their recycling efforts. Although recycling is not mandated by the City, many residents and businesses alike will benefit by participating in this exciting new program.

Here's how it works:

- Businesses place a free ad on RecycleBank.com. Businesses seeing the best redemptions are restaurants, entertainment, recreation, frequently visited retail, pharmacy, grocery, auto maintenance, fast food, sports, convenience stores, etc.

- Consumers who recycle will receive points based on the weight of their recyclables. Points equal approximately $20 per month in offers.

- Consumers view and choose offers on RecycleBank.com, order them from their RecycleBank accounts, and receive them in the mail to redeem at businesses advertising FREE on RecycleBank.com. Everybody wins! Consumers receive dollars to be spent in our community which benefits the local economy.
